James Xia, Designer – Sheridan Nurseries

James and Cathy inspired the floral design for Home #1 and Latcham Hall

James love of plants and flowers stems back to his childhood and parents who taught him the beauty in nature.   James started  with Sheridan Nurseries in 2007, working in the annual and perennial department.  It quickly became obvious that his talents went far beyond caring for these plants and his creative abilities were put to use making custom pieces that could satisfy any occasion.   His passion for uniqueness is fueled partly by his love of photography where he is forever inspired by nature, its beauty and showcasing it in his own unique way.  Just one of James notable accomplishments was receiving a Landscape Ontario Award, the Award of Excellence for Kung Hei Fat Choy, Merchandising Techniques, Outstanding Promotional Event

Cathy Meanchoff, Designer – Sheridan Nurseries

Cathy and James inspired the floral design for Home #1 and Latcham Hall

Cathy has had a passion for gardening and the great outdoors her entire life.  A stay at home mom, she raised 3 very busy boys and still managed to create beautiful home gardens and containers.  As her family matured and she could take a little more time for herself she enrolled in a stain glass class at Cullen Country Barn.  Her talents shone through and Cathy ended up heading the Stain Glass department teaching many others her new found craft.  In 2007, her boys now grown and being the proud grandmother to 10 beautiful grandchildren her love of nature led her to Sheridan Nurseries.  Being a nurturer at heart, switching from raising children to plants was an easy and welcome transition.  In Cathys words “the atmosphere at Sheridan gives me a feeling of wellness”  Cathys creativity in putting together beautiful custom arrangements through all 4 seasons is self taught and stems purely from her passion for nature.
